Upcoming Fashion Trends 2013

Simply Be attended Pure London at Kensington Olympia a couple of weeks ago. Whilst there we got to see what’s new in fashion and find out about the upcoming fashion trends for Autumn Winter 2013! So with the help of our lovely Simply Be fashion buyer Ross Howard we thought we’d share with you our round up of the trends and give you a taste for what’s to come later on in the year.

There will be three big trends which will be bracing our scenes this autumn/winter 2013, so ladies keep your eyes peeled…
Trend One: Hack-tivate
This trend has a strong military theme running through, including lots of tweed and wool-textures. As you may have already heard or seen, the 1990′s are already making a comeback (I know, right) and over the next season we’ll be seeing retro 1990′s bomber jackets and varsity jackets. Sports luxe is still bang on trend and can be easily worked into your everyday wardrobe.
Leathers and PU’ s will continue to be a top trend this coming season as seen below…

We’re taking elements of this look and working it into some fabulous must-have pieces, here’s a sneak peek:

Trend Two: 21st Century Romance
I would describe it as ‘Future modern meets the V&A archives.’ This trend follows a huge emphasis on the waist and high necklines. Simple shift dresses with rounded shoulders and a hint of gothic is key. Baroque prints will be MASSIVE! Everyone should have black and gold baroque items in their wardrobe – team with deep crimson accessories, such as ornate jewellery for a luxe opulent look. Metallics and encrusted collars are still key and dark florals are super wearable for next season. Ross’ style note: Tapestry bags and trims will be huge.

We spy some key black & gold baroque that will be making an appearance at Simply Be later on in the year!

Trend Three: Living Design
This final trend is very knitwear oriented, with waterfall cardigans and polo neck sweaters. It’s all very sophisticated but also really cosy. Panelling in knits and quilting are key. Or you could try knit prints on leggings to get the look without the smothering heat. With winter accessories, the snood is here to stay (Are you a fan of the snood?) If you haven’t heard the phrase cocooning in fashion yet, then keep your eyes peeled, it’s set to shape your style this autumn winter. Also watch out for cut-out details on glam evening wear.
Ross’ style note: Boots are key – fur lined and very cosy!

Simply Be’s take to keep you right on top of the trends this autumn! (Oooh look at the gorgeous textures and colours…we want!)

Thanks Ross, great tips, we’ll be sure to look out for them. Hope this has given you all a snapshot of what’s to come – we’re already looking forward to rocking our bomber jackets and leather look pants!
