Feeling Fruity with Ruby Rocks
0 Comments
Ruby Rocks is one of our favourite brands here at Simply Be – and it must be one of yours too because the pieces always sell like hotcakes!
This season the collection has a distinctly fruity feel to it – perfect for a long hot summer (here’s hoping!).
We’re going bananas (sorry, had to) over this floaty kaftan. You can wear it as a top or a beach cover up and the sleeves can be worn loose or tabbed up.
This pineapple print sundress has a totally tropical vibe – and the side ties will really help show off those curves.
This sweet frill hem dress is called the BBQ dress and we can see why! It would definitely look best in the sunshine, with an ice cold drink in hand as the perfect accessory.

Wedding looks that wow!

We all love a good wedding don’t we? But what nobody loves is that dreaded ‘what on earth am I going to wear?’ feeling! The best approach is to start thinking about it early – then you won’t end up doing a panic buy a few days before and settling for something that’s not quite right. Everybody always checks out what the other guests are wearing, so make sure your outfit makes everyone green with envy!
It’s worth bearing in mind the style of the wedding and choosing your outfit to suit.
Country House
For a traditional wedding go for something soft and feminine; flowing shapes, floral prints and ruffle trims are all perfect.
City Chic
If your friends have opted for a modern wedding then try a simpler shape but make a statement with a bold colour or print – or both!
Beach Beautiful
If you’re lucky enough to have a beach wedding in your diary then you can keep it more relaxed. Cool and comfy is the order of the day.
Oscars 2011 Dress Trends

Ah the Oscars. Every year we gaze longingly at the fabulous gowns and the glittering stars and sigh. And then before you know it, they’re gone for another year!
It’s always a thrill to see what each actress will plump for – and to discover what the trends are. This year there have been two main trends.
We wrote about the first trend not so long ago – the Black Swan look.
The influence of the film (for which Natalie Portman scooped the Oscar for Best Actress) was clearly visible on the red carpet, with Mila Kunis, Hilary Swank, Sharon Stone and Halle Berry all making an appearance in feathery or gauzy numbers.
Get the Black Swan look:
The other trend was for something completely different: bold berry shades of rich ruby red or plummy purple. Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson looked stunning in plum, while Anne Hathaway and Sandra Bullock were ravishing in red.

Farewell Oscars – until next time!
