February has been full of fashion events, new trends and clearing out that winter wardrobe! We don’t know about you, but we’re sooo ready to welcome in spring.

Simply Be along with Gok Wan hosted a live chat to answer all your burning questions on shapewear and underwear. The live chat kicked off at 12.30pm on Thursday 21st February with Gok tweeting live from his account @TheRealGokWan. Questions starting pouring in to the style star with lots of you wanting to know the best way to make the most of your body shape. To tie in with the upcoming Oscars weekend, Gok took to twitter with the hashtag #GoksGoldenGirls with his best supporting underwear in hand to answer as many of your questions as possible on the subject of shapewear.

Hope you all had a lovely start to the year. We’ve got through the cold, snow and winter blues of January and we’ve made it to the other side – hurray! (Now there’s only one month ’til we begin the start of spring)
Lots of things have been happening this past month, so if you missed any of it, here’s a run down of our favourites.
We were very proud to announce that Simply Be are sponsors of The Official British Plus Size Fashion Weekend, taking place in London on February 15th and 16th during London Fashion Week. Remi Ray (pictured below) of Trapped in a Skinny World partnered with Evolve magazine to organise this amazing event, celebrating the curves of the UK and Europe. We’ll be right in on the action so keep your eyes peeled for more on this, in our blog update.

This week we’re talking underwear and ladies we have the perfect collection that looks as good as it feels. If you struggle to buy sexy fitted lingerie, or are in need of new smalls, now is the time to update your drawers.

The high waisted briefs gives light control for your tum, and will flatter a curvy figure. The multi-way strapless bra body shaper is also in polka-dot. Super soft to the touch this shaper will smooth your silhoutte. We love that it’s practical and pleasing to the eye – what more could you ask for!
The Liquorice design, features black piping detail and comes in a racer back bra with matching control briefs. We love the racer back look and the briefs have a solid front panel designed to pull in your tum. The Liquorice underwired bodyshaper looks fab under dresses and gives all-round body support!

Buying the right size bra is essential! There’s nothing worse than wearing an ill-fitted bra, so before buying, here’s our handy checklist to see if you’re rocking the right size:
- The wires at the front of your bra in the middle of your chest should sit flat against your body.
- The wires underneath your bust should sit flat against your rib cage with absolutely no lifting away.
- Cups should fit with no bulging over or gaping at the top
- The back-band should be nice and snug. You shouldn’t be able to pull it more than 2 inches from your back.
This Gok Wan range is available in back sizes 32 -46 with some cup sizes up to G, so there’s no need to wear uncomfortable or frumpy underwear anymore! After all lingerie is to be enjoyed both with and without clothes!

Well the first month of 2012 has certainly flown by and there’s been lots going on!
We launched our 12 key items for Spring Summer, which have gone down a storm…

Gok Wan’s Wall of Fame Shapewear Launch

Last Tuesday in London’s prestigious W hotel in Leicester Square, the Simply Yours team and Gok Wan himself introduced his latest shapewear collection to bloggers and the press.
Gok has revamped his original 40′s inspired designs, tweaking it here and there to make it more fabulous than ever before, and launching it in three stunning new shades: Blush, Crush and Sweet Slate. Gok Wan’s ‘Wall of Fame’ range consists of 6 essential shapewear lines: the Curve Controller, Banger Booster, Pull Me In Pants, Divine Outline, Sassy Slip and, last but by no means least – the Slicker Knicker!
Gok told Lingerie Buyer:
‘After three years of working on my range, this is the best collection yet.
‘We’ve had feedback from our customers on Facebook and Twitter who have told us what works and what doesn’t. We also do customer focus groups and I do live style sessions online and the thing that came back was that everyone wanted larger cup sizes. This collection has listened to the feedback we’ve been given from our customers, so I was actually quite nervous about this launch!
‘It’s quite a big collection and with it I hope to get past the idea that shapewear should be hidden.’
