Oh my, it’s turning out to be a very exciting year! Gosh, we’ve not been back from the Prima High Street Fashion Awards for more than two weeks – but already we’ve got another award nomination!
Yes ladies, we’ve been nominated for a Fabulous High Street Fashion Awards 2010! You’ll find us under Fabulous For Curves, so for the third time this year we’re asking you to show your support and vote for Simply Be! You’ve already been great this year and we’ve got a Highly Commended award to prove it – but it would be oh-so nice to get another, especially as it’s our lovely customers who’ll be voting for the winners.

It’s going to be all glitz and glam for us tomorrow night when we head off to the fashion capital for the Prima High Street Fashion Awards! You might remember us telling you about them a little while back and asking you to vote for us. Well now is the moment of truth, the big night when we find out if we’ve got the gong!

The nominations are officially in and we’re up for two fashion awards. The first, as you expect, is in the 16+ category – after all, we’re go-to brand for plus size fashion shoppers! And the second, is in the catalogue category – because we make shopping so very easy for you, at home, where you’re most comfortable! Oooh, it’s so exciting!

Exciting news! Simply Be has been nominated for the Company Magazine Fashion Awards! We made it onto the short list for two categories – Best Plus-size Collection and Best Fashion Retailer! Yipeee!

Ooh, we’ve got so much to tell you! The glitz, the glamour, the fashion – and, of course, the gossip… oh yes, last week’s British Fashion Awards were as eventful as ever.
Winners on the night
It was Georgia Jagger that walked away with the much coveted Model award. She’s already the face of Hudson Jeans and you’ve probably seen her in the Rimmel ads. But this latest award seals the deal, singling her out as the one-to-watch on the British fashion scene.
Other winners on the night include Burberry (designer brand), Kate Moss (London 25), Christopher Baily (designer of the year) and Katie Hillier (accessory designer).
Red carpet fashion
As always, there were things we loved… and things we HATED! For example, we loved Claudia Schiffer’s graphic print dress. So simple, utterly sophisticated and just really cool. Twiggy looked great too, in a simple gold top with boyfriend jacket and leggings. And Myleen Klass? Well, the surname says it all. Her little black dress was just to die for!
But on the other side of the coin, there’s Pixie Geldof. We’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for her – she’s quirky, adventurous and always completely on-style… until now. Last night she threw caution to the wind and turned up at the awards in a black transparent dress. What was she wearing underneath? Well, knickers but very little else. Now we don’t mind that kind of thing on the beach, but it’s not really our cup of tea on the red carpet.
Psst… we’ve got gossip
Models – they may be drop dead gorgeous, but they’re just as human as the rest of us. It’s true – and last night was the proof. You see, the absolutely stunning Karen Elson took a bit of a tumble. Actually, that’s a massive understatement. She fell from the stage into the orchestra pit 4 foot below. Ouch!

As you’ve probably guessed, we like to keep our fingers firmly on the fashion pulse. So we’re really quite excited about the British Fashion Awards. Taking place tonight in the big smoke, it’s one of the biggest events on the UK fashion calendar!
Up for awards this year, we have the big designer brands, the likes of Burberry, Mulberry and Pringle of Scotland. And on the model side of things, there’s Daisy Lowe, Georgia Jagger and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Georgia’s sister Jade is up there in the pictures from last year’s event, so she’s sure to attend tonight too! And of course, there’ll be a Designer of the Year, not to mention an Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design award, so all in all, it’s going to be a great night!
Oooh, just imagine… the country’s hottest designers and most on-trend celebrities, all gathered together for a red carpet event! It’s going to be fashion-tastic – and if you’re lucky, we’ll give you some ‘steal-her-style’ ideas from the big night – so watch this space!
