At Simply Be we live and breathe fashion – but we know that it’s what’s underneath that counts! Even the most gorgeous of outfits won’t look its best unless you have the right underwear to do it justice. So we thought we’d take a look at the lingerie essentials that every woman should own. How many do you have?
T-shirt bra
Not the most glamorous of lingerie styles, but trust us, if you find your perfect fit you will want one for every day of the week! A T-shirt bra will give you a lovely smooth outline as there are no extra embellishments to interfere with the silhouette of your clothing.
Multiway strapless bra
Next time you’re shopping for a killer party dress, don’t let what’s in your underwear drawer restrict your choices. With a multiway strapless bra in your bra armoury (bramoury?) you’ll be ready for anything. Wear strapless, halterneck, crossover back or asymmetric strap and make it work for your outfit. This bra right here is actually the world’s largest strapless bra, available up to K cup – so please don’t ever think that you can’t go strapless if you’ve a bigger bust.
Plunge bra
For head-turning cleavage only one bra will do – it’s got to be a plunge. Plunge bras are low at the front making them perfect for deep, sexy necklines, and higher at the side of the cup, pushing your breasts together slightly for a va-va-voom look!
Bodyshaper
Depending on your body shape you may prefer pieces of shapewear that target specific areas, but a bodyshaper is a good all-rounder with the added advantage of giving a smooth line all over. A natural coloured one will be much more invisible under pale clothing than a white one.
Black tights
If you’re reaching for a fab dress in the morning, make sure you aren’t scrabbling around for tights aren’t bobbly and laddered to go with it! High denier plain black tights look chic and classy – and make your legs look fab! If it’s a plain dress, why not add interest with patterned tights instead?

How to Dress for a Modelling Interview

If you’re lucky enough to get a face-to-face interview with a modelling agency or client firstly – well done! You’ve done fantastically to get that far in such a competitive industry. But for such an important meeting the big question is – what on earth do you wear? Follow our tips and we’ll help you to get it right.
Outfit
Although you’re out to impress and you obviously want to show your fashion credentials, an interview is not the time to be showcasing the statement pieces from your wardrobe. Your interviewer will be trying to imagine how you will look in their collection so it’s better to keep it really simple – neat and contemporary, but fairly plain. Casting agents will want to see your figure so go for form-fitting clothing. Skinny jeans and a close-fitting vest or T-shirt is perfect.
Shoes
Depending on the nature of the casting, you may be asked to walk for the client. This means you need to be able to show that you can walk in heels, so they’re the natural footwear choice. They’ll also make you look taller and more confident for that initial first impression. Plain black or nude court shoes are perfect.
Underwear
You may be asked to try on any kind of garment, so make sure your underwear doesn’t let you down. A smooth nude bra and matching briefs are essential. We’d recommend wearing or taking with you a strapless or multiway bra so that you’re ready for any kind of outfit. Make sure you’re wearing the right size so that your bust is well supported and you have a lovely silhouette.
Hair & Make Up
Much along the same lines as your clothing, you need to keep your hair and make-up simple. A casting agent will want to look at you as a blank canvas for whatever style they have in mind. Keep make up natural looking and not too heavy on the foundation so that they can see how good your skin is. Wear your hair down or scraped back neatly.
So there are our tips! It’s not about wowing them with what you wear – it’s about wowing them with your personality and modelling skills, so let that shine through.
Lovely Lingerie for a Summer’s Day!

Ah don’t you love it when you can start wearing your summer wardrobe! All those light, bright colours and strapless or strappy tops!
But there’s no point having a gorgeous summery outfit that’s let down by the wrong underwear – a greying bra strap on show just won’t do! Wearing the right bra is key to getting the most out of your summer look.
Here are our top tips to help you get it right.
The invisi-bra
White is a really big trend this summer, but one of the main mistakes people make is to wear a white bra beneath a white top. This will actually show up quite clearly because white + white = extra white. If you want your bra to blend in then what you really need is a skintone bra, like this one:
Multiway Magic
For halterneck or asymmetric strap tops and dresses you need a bra that can adapt to suit. This is where the multiway bra comes in!
Strapless wonder
For more delicate halternecks or strapless tops it’s got to be a strapless bra. Don’t be tempted to just take down the shoulder straps of your normal bra and tuck them in! Not only will you get lumps where you tuck the straps in but you simply won’t get the right shape and support. This strapless bra gives comfortable support up to an H cup:

Here she is, Teer Wayde, the gorgeous Aussie model wearing her pick of the Simply Be lingerie collection! It turns out she just loves our shapewear, especially Gok Wan’s curve-controlling creations, exclusive to Simply Yours. So we sent her a little collection and she was kind enough to do a photo shoot!
You have to agree, she looks absolutely stunning. The vintage stylish, her vibrant red hair, those fabulous curves and our beautiful lingerie – it’s a match made in heaven! We’re loving the backdrop, outside is such a fab way to shoot lingerie, so unexpected. But then, the weather over there is probably a whole lot nicer than here!

A gorgeous starting point
So, you know you’ve got loads of gorgeous options in your size – now let’s put it all in perspective. Your lingerie is the starting point of every outfit. In fact, we’d go as far as to say that it can make or break an outfit. After all, there’s nothing worse than wearing a low cut dress and finding that your bra keeps popping into view.
So our advice is get a collection of plus size lingerie… plunge bras, balconette bras, t-shirt bras and maybe even a couple of figure fixing options for those special occasions (or indeed, your everyday looks, because you’ll be surprised just how comfortable they are). Multiway bras are important too. If you’re a busty woman, you may not get the support you need from a strapless bra but you can always attach clear straps to a multiway one!
Then once you’ve got a collection in place, match your bra to your outfit. Pick a colour and style that will complement what you’re wearing – you’ll be surprised just what a difference it’ll make. And though it’s tempting to wear those pretty or flirty bras everyday, try to resist – detailed bras will often show through light Summer layers, so save them for the right outfit!
And finally, remember that bras wear out just like every other piece in your wardrobe – but it’s not always blatantly obvious. Test your bras regularly to make sure they still fit. The back band will stretch over time, so move to a tighter hook if you feel you’re not getting the same support you did when you first bought it.
