Steal Their Style: Fashion Week Special
0 Comments
You know what it’s like on the front row at London Fashion Week – super stylish and enviously on-trend! So we’ve picked two front row regulars – Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof for a Fashion Week ‘Steal Their Style’ Special…
Fashion Royalty
Alexa Chung is undoubtedly one of Britain’s most talked about fashionistas. This catwalk season saw her launching her first fashion collection and, as always, taking a front row seat show after show. And her never-far-away companion? None other than the style-star daughter of Bob Geldof – Pixie!
Do it in denim
Now these two are usually fashion-opposites but it looks like Spring/Summer’s biggest trend has brought them together – oh yes, there’s nothing more versatile than a spot of denim! But the question is, can you make their looks work on a gorgeous plus-size girl?
Steal that style!
Alexa does it casual in a cool denim shirt and navy leggings. So if it’s her style that’s caught your style-eye, try our plus size denim shirt. And why not take the trend even further by switching those navy leggings for a gorgeous pair of plus-size jeggings? Every girl needs a bag, so slip your valuables into this gorgeous Juno Bowling Bag. And finish with a pair of cream heels, something with standout to add a fashion-edge to all that casualness – our Moda In Pelle courts are perfect!
But if it’s Pixie’s look that really rocks your boat, it’s time for a different take on denim. Now she likes to show a bit of flesh, but not everyone’s as daring as this rock princess. So don’t worry if you’re not as confident as Pixie, you can still get the look. Just swap that denim crop top for a gorgeous plus-size denim waistcoat. Wear it over a simple blue vest top – and throw on a pair of plus-size slim leg jeans! A heavy silver pendant will make the look, adding Pixie’s rock chic edge. And to finish? A pair of cute-as-you-like over the knee boots!
And you know what? If you don’t like their style, do denim your own way! We’ve got plenty more for you to choose from, just shop our plus-size jeans or denim collections!

Steal Her Style: Gemma Atkinson
0 Comments
Actress, reality TV star and self-confessed curvy girl Gemma Atkinson is our Steal Her Style pick of the month! The blonde bombshell rose to fame in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, playing Lisa Hunter. And if you didn’t see her in that, you’re sure to have seen her doing the rounds on the reality TV circuit. Oh yes, she’s been in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, Celebrity Masterchef and Soap Star, Super Star! But now she’s off to the West End to star in Calendar Girls, so it’s back in the style limelight for this leading lady!
Her Style…
Well, as you’ve probably seen, Gemma does red carpet glamour like the best of ‘em – but that’s not what we love about her. Oh no, anyone can look good in a little black dress, what we love about Gemma’s style is her cool, casualness. The way she can walk out in an old pair of jeans and a half-tucked shirt and still look totally on-trend. So when we say steal her style, we mean steal her curve-confident approach to dressing too!
The Look…
So how can you look as effortlessly chic as Gemma? Well actually, it’s quite easy! Just grab yourself a checked shirt, something like this gorgeous Joe Browns number, and wear it with a pair of boyfriend style jeans. Our Slouch Jeans will do the job nicely, but don’t forget, you can always steal something from your fella. Wear the shirt half-untucked like Gemma for easy, undone glam. And finish the look with tough tan boots – these Groundworks Boots are perfect and if it starts to snow again, you’ll definitely be prepared! Oh, finally, finish the look with this Juno Shoulder Bag - definitely an investment piece, something you’ll use again and again!
The plus-size lingerie series!

Lingerie, it’s a tricky one – especially if you’re plus-sized! Finding the right fit has to be your top priority… but that doesn’t mean you can’t have gorgeous, feminine designs too. You know, bubble-gum pink… hot fushia… dainty black… and so much more!
If you’ve got a curvy, plus-size figure, you’ve probably already encountered all the ‘quirks’ of shopping on the high street. That moment when you see something you absolutely love… then seconds later discover it’s not in your size. The troublesome fittings, the lack of support, the restrictive designs. Well, we’re here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way.
So, over the coming weeks, maybe even months if you’re lucky, we’re going to show you all the gorgeous plus-size lingerie you could be wearing. And the best bit? Sizes go from 30-50, cups A-JJ – and we do support like the size experts we are!

1. Dare you…
There’s nothing like a good challenge to motivate you into action. So set yourself goals. Sign up for a 10km run… enroll on that climbing course… put a number on your target weight… and hey, don’t forget, you don’t have to do it alone – a bit of healthy rivalry between friends can be just what you need to revive your enthusiasm.
2. Find your niche…
Not everyone loves the gym and some people can’t stand running, so finding your ‘niche’ is really important. If you haven’t found an exercise regime you love, keep looking. Try taking a yoga class… go cycling… or plug in the wii everyday and burn off your calories with a virtual boxing match – whatever works for you!
3. Invest in your plans…
As a savvy shopper, there’s nothing more frustrating than buying something you’ll never wear. So investing in your fitness wardrobe is a great way to motivate yourself to stick with your 2010 plans. Think wear-by-wear – if you wear it once, it’ll cost £20 for that one wear… but if you wear it 50 times, it only cost 40p a wear!
